Why prefer to see a Homeopath?

Posted on 3 February, 2014 at 13:32
It is always worth visiting a homeopath. The homeopath will always be eager to know all your symptoms. Symptoms represents the efforts of the body to defend and heal itself from a variety of infections and/or stresses. Medical science today is increasingly recognizing symptoms as adaptive responses of the body. Symptoms are caused by something and getting rid of the symptoms by taking drugs does not mean that the person is cured. Drugs suppress and inhibit the symptoms provide only a guise of success. It usually drive the disease deeper into the body, leading to more serious illness. Drugs create effects that are often worse than the original disease. The symptoms and disease suppression is precisely the reason why many people today are suffering from chronic diseases and why there are many suffering from mental illness as the physical disease is suppressed deep enough and pushed into the psyche.
A homeopath's approach to health is always individualized (tailored to each person). Homeopaths need to know the patients’ mental, emotional and physical symptoms at all times prior to giving any homeopathic remedy. This is necessary because homeopaths focus is on the patient as a whole and not just on the specific sickness that the patient is experiencing. Homeopathy uses the Law of Similars - Like cures like. The remedy chosen must have the totality of symptoms of the patient. Minute doses of either plant, animal or mineral is used to treat the patient’s symptoms in a very gentle and effective way.
Homeopathic remedies work with the body to help stimulate the body to heal itself. The body’s defense mechanism is stimulated to prevent or treat illnesses as against the conventional medical way where drugs are given to suppress symptoms.
